Rita Esber
Rita Esber, Motivational Speaker and Bionic Model. This is her Story:
It’s hard proving yourself that you are strong enough to live a normal life, without people staring and wondering how and why.
I was born with a missing limb from below the elbow, I have a difference I can’t hide. At first I was lucky being born in a family where my strong parents knew they need to raise me and treat me just like my other sisters. “You are not different Rita, you are special!” That’s what my mom have always told me.
I used to hide my hand in my photos on Facebook at first, because I thought people won’t love me or want to get to know me.
Until one day, I decided to be confident and not hide my difference, especially on social media, I wanted everyone to see the real me, all of me. I wanted everyone to see that I am a happy girl living a normal happy life, despite missing a limb.
The surprise was that people loved me, ALOT, and wanted to know me more and know my story. People wanted to be part of my daily life, to follow my updates on the different social media platforms, as an appreciation of the positive vibes I transfer to them, without even talking to them.
I met Bionics MENA in 2020, through the initiative of Candle of Hope; who promised me a customized bionic arm, personalized to my very own preferences. Now I am the brand ambassador of Bionics Mena.
Through my bionic modeling projects, I raise awareness about limb differences, and promoting for the acceptance and respect of differences in all people. My mission has echoed to other countries, and I was awarded the Star of the Night, in the EMIGALA, the first event of its kind in the middle east, that honors fashion icons and designers.
